MN GOP

It appears that the MN GOP went into uber-celebration and let the last election go straight to their head. They have succeeded in alienating a good number of long time republicans, myself included in the arrogant way that they attended to the moral concepts of conservatism. Indeed the MN GOP platform in one place calls for equal rights for everyone and in another, the call for marriage to be defined as a union between a man and a woman. If it is not equal for all then it is discriminatory. The US constitution, that appears not to have read by the MN GOP, calls for a separation of church and state, but the MN GOP's platform actively invites religious leaders to use there churches to actively campaign for the MN GOP agenda. It is this sudden push to have religious morals thrust upon the citizens of Minnesota that is upsetting to long time Republicans like myself. True conservatism does not react in the manner of the current MN GOP. True conservatism looks at what is perceived to be a  problem and then finds out if it is one, and slowly acts with openmindedness, all the while feeling out the opinions of constituents.

What the MN GOP has failed to recognize is that as elected officials, they not only represent the people who voted for them, but all the people.
