Man takes control of SkyWest jet at Utah airport

ST. GEORGE Utah -- A Colorado man suspected of killing a woman last week took control of a SkyWest airplane early Tuesday and crashed it into several vehicles at the St. George Municipal Airport before apparently committing suicide inside the plane, officials said.
Brian Joseph Hedglin, 40, a SkyWest employee from Colorado Springs, Colo., was wanted in the slaying of 39-year-old Christina Cornejo, whose body was found Friday in Colorado Springs. Hedglin was free on $10,000 bond while being tried in a harassment case involving Cornejo, whom he had been dating, according to Colorado court records.
Marc Mortensen, assistant to the St. George city manager, said a police officer doing a perimeter check of the airport grounds at about 12:50 a.m. found a motorcycle that apparently belonged to Hedglin outside the fence.
The motorcycle's engine was still warm, and the officer continued to patrol the grounds.
